welcome to

It’s so exciting to be adding more kickboxing videos to the Brighter Fitness workout library! When it’s a new year, you gotta start off your fitness with a BANG!

Soon after becoming a certified group fitness instructor, I completed a kickboxing instructor certification. The two days of training were so fun and powerful! I loved teaching kickboxing with their pre-choreographed routines. However, the music you are required to use is not clean. So I gave it up.

A friend told me that I should create my own method. What?! I didn’t know I could create my own kickboxing routines! I went for it! Now I love creating my own kickboxing classes at home!

Confidence. That is the key to success here. Take confidence in your punches and kicks. And in this workout, take confidence in your blocks, ducks and foot work. Give each kickboxing exercise purpose. This workout puts a little more emphasis on the defensive moves, just to keep it interesting!

We explore some defensive moves in Kickboxing to really get you in shape! Don’t worry, there’s plenty of offensive moves to keep us on top of our game. These defensive moves will make your lower body and your core super sore tomorrow! JC Duck, Bob n Weave, and the Boxer’s Shuffle are some of your fave kickboxing defensive moves. Don’t forget to throw some major hook punches and do some damage with your uppercuts and round house kicks!

During the stretch, I share an old tale, “The Story of the Two Wolves”.

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Which wolf do you want to show up in your life? Nurture that wolf. Cancel the negative voice in your head. Spend more time with positivity!
